Sun Wukong took back his hairs, told the little monkeys to close their eyes, and performed a magic spell. A gust of wind blew by, and they rode on the wind back to Flower Fruit Mountain. From then on, Sun Wukong made some bamboo spears and wooden knives for the little monkeys, and taught them martial arts with the big knife he had taken. Before long, Sun Wukong felt that bamboo spears and wooden knives were not good enough for fighting. Two monkeys told him that there must be good weapons in Aolai Country.
Sun Wukong rode on a cloud to the sky above Aolai Country, recited a spell, and immediately a strong wind blew in the sky, sand and stones flying around, scaring the soldiers and civilians of the city so that they dared not come out. He took the opportunity to run into the arsenal, plucked a handful of hairs and blew them out, turning them into thousands of little monkeys who looted everything. When Sun Wukong saw that it was enough, he changed the direction of the wind and returned to Flower Fruit Mountain.
From then on, the Water Curtain cave on Flower Fruit Mountain became even more famous, and all the demon leaders, that is, the cave masters of the seventy-two caves, came to visit Sun Wukong. But Wukong was unhappy about one thing. He disliked the big knife for being too light and not good to use. An old monkey with a hunched back told Wukong that under the bridge of the Water Curtain cave, there was a direct passage to the Dragon Palace of the East Sea. He told him to go and ask the Dragon King for a handy weapon.
