Wukong jumped around in the furnace, and by chance he jumped to the position of Xun Palace, where there was only smoke and no fire, which was very choking. He bent down and squatted inside. Forty-nine days passed, and Taishang Laojun ordered to open the furnace door. Wukong suddenly heard a noise on the top of the furnace, looked up and saw a ray of light, jumped hard, jumped out of the alchemy furnace, kicked over the furnace, and ran away.
Sun Wukong was not melted, but instead refined a pair of fiery eyes. He took out his golden hoop from his ears, shook it in the wind, and turned it into a bowl-sized thickness. Wukong swung his magic staff, hitting east and west all the way, until he reached Lingxiao Hall, shouting loudly: “Emperors take turns, old Jade Emperor, you better move out and give me the heavenly palace, or else I’ll show you some tricks!”
Fortunately, the Jade Emperor was able to escape with the protection of the thirty-six thunder generals and the twenty-eight constellations. He immediately sent someone to the west to invite the Buddha. The Buddha heard this and came to the outside of the Lingxiao Palace with two venerables, Ananda and Kasyapa. He ordered to stop the fighting and called out Sun Wukong to see what he was capable of. Sun Wukong glared at the Buddha with anger, not paying any respect to him.
