Realizing that his pain was due to his master chanting the spell, Wukong cried out, "Master, stop chanting! Stop chanting!"
In his frustration, Wukong discreetly took out his magic staff, planning to strike Tang Monk dead. However, upon seeing this, Tang Monk chanted the spell even faster, intensifying Wukong's agony. Left with no other option, Wukong fell to his knees, pleading, "Master, I was wrong. I admit my mistake. Please stop chanting the spell!"
Seeing his repentance, Tang Monk ceased chanting. Wukong's pain subsided immediately. Suspecting that Guanyin was behind the spell, Wukong declared that he wanted to confront her in the Southern Sea. Tang Monk responded, "If she taught me the Tightening Hoop Spell, she'd surely know how to chant it too!" Taking a deep breath, Wukong refrained from acting recklessly and vowed to obey his master and protect him on their journey to the West to retrieve the sacred scriptures.
