Chapter 6: Guanyin Temple's battle for the precious kasaya.

The old monk was stunned, and a poisonous plan crawled into his mind. He found an excuse, and asked Tang Monk to lend him the cassock for a closer look overnight, and return it in the morning. Tang Monk hadn’t opened his mouth yet, when Sun Wukong said first: “Just lend it to him for one night! Nothing will happen!” Tang Monk wanted to stop him but it was too late. He reluctantly lent the cassock to the old monk.

At night, the old monk secretly asked the young monks to bring a lot of firewood, intending to burn Tang Monk and his disciple to death. Sun Wukong heard a lot of noise in the yard, and felt strange. He was afraid that his master would be awakened, so he turned into a little bee and flew into the yard. He saw the scene before him, and felt very funny. He turned his eyes and thought of a clever plan.

Sun Wukong rode on his somersault cloud and came to the South Heaven Gate. The heavenly soldiers and generals guarding the gate saw that it was the Great Sage Equal to Heaven who had made a great commotion in heaven. They were scared and ran around in chaos. Sun Wukong shouted: “Don’t be afraid! Don’t be afraid! I’m not here to fight, I’m here to find the Wide-Eyed Heavenly King to borrow the Fire-Proof Cover, to save my master!” The Wide-Eyed Heavenly King had no choice but to lend the treasure to Sun Wukong.

Sun Wukong took the Fire-Proof Cover back to the Guanyin Temple, covered his master’s meditation room with it, and then sat leisurely on the roof, watching the monks set fire. In an instant, the fire blazed fiercely. Sun Wukong thought, these monks are too cruel, so he blew a breath, and immediately stirred up a strong wind. The fire was fueled by the wind, and the whole Guanyin Temple turned into a sea of fire.
