Chapter 6: Guanyin Temple's battle for the precious kasaya.

They fought with each other, one with a spear, the other with a cudgel, and it was hard to tell who was winning, until the sun set. The monster said: “It’s getting dark now, let’s fight again tomorrow!” Sun Wukong knew that this guy wanted to escape again, and wouldn’t let him go. He hit him with a cudgel on his head, but the monster turned into a clear wind and slipped back into the cave.

Sun Wukong had no choice but to go back to the Guanyin Temple. Tang Monk saw that the cassock hadn’t been taken back yet, and was very anxious. He couldn’t sleep at night. The next day, as soon as it was light, Sun Wukong said to Tang Monk: “Master, don’t worry. If I don’t get back the cassock today, I won’t come back to see you!” He had decided to find Guanyin Bodhisattva for help.

Sun Wukong rode on a cloud to Mount Lankavatara in the South Sea, and met Guanyin Bodhisattva. He bowed deeply and explained his purpose. Guanyin Bodhisattva sighed and said: “You monkey, you shouldn’t have shown off your precious clothing in public, let alone burned down the temple and made it like this.” She finished speaking, instructed her boy a few words, and rode on a cloud with Sun Wukong to Black Wind Mountain.

They soon arrived at Black Wind Mountain, and saw from afar that the Taoist who was on the slope yesterday was holding a jade plate and walking over. Sun Wukong went up and killed the Taoist with a cudgel. He revealed his true form, which was a big gray wolf. Sun Wukong picked up the plate and saw that there were two immortal pills inside. It turned out that he was going to attend the Buddha’s clothing feast.
