Chapter 8: Tang Monk encounters trouble in the Yellow Wind Cave.

The demon took Tang Monk to his cave, and proudly told his master that he had caught Tang Monk. The old monster was shocked when he heard this. He knew how powerful Sun Wukong was, and was very afraid in his heart. He ordered the little demons to drag Tang Monk to the backyard, tie him to a wind-stopping pillar, and not eat him yet. He said that after three or five days, if Tang Monk’s disciples didn’t come to make trouble, then it wouldn’t be too late to eat him.

Meanwhile, Sun Wukong and Bajie saw that the tiger was lying on a stone. They hit it with their cudgel and rake together. The tiger skin broke, and the stone cracked. Sun Wukong shouted: “Oh no, we fell for it!” The two of them hurried back to the crossroads to look for their master. There was no trace of their master. Bajie cried in a hurry. Sun Wukong said: “Don’t cry first, we should find our master first!”

The two brothers chased into the mountain, crossing hills and valleys, and suddenly saw a mountain gate under a rock, with six big characters “Yellow Wind Ridge Yellow Wind Cave”. Sun Wukong asked Bajie to watch the horse and the luggage, and went to the cave entrance to challenge.

The little demons ran in to report to the old demon.

The old demon’s vanguard volunteered, gathered fifty strong subordinates, beating drums and waving flags, holding two bronze knives, jumped out of the cave, and fought with Sun Wukong. After a few rounds, the demon was sore and tired, turned around and wanted to run. Sun Wukong quickly blocked his way. The vanguard saw that he couldn’t return to the cave, so he had to run towards the slope.
